city.was is broken and unsuable!

It is NOT possible to use either a monkey swing or a climbable wall, because Lara gets stuck somehow - try it out!

Yeah, this is a problem that plagues even some of the original TR Cario levels.

I guaruntee that this same problem will pop up if the Citadel level is ever released (as it also has this same bug).

But none of the other Cario levels have this problem that I can recall.

SORRY about the 'broken' city.was, but isn't not being able to use the monkey swing and climbing wall a small trade off for getting the motorbike? Focus on creating a cool level using the motorbike and save all that monkey swinging and wall climbing for another level!

What if you want to monkeyswing down to the bike?

Good thing Lara's a girl otherwise that would give a bloke the old "squashnuts".

Well, even CORE itself could not afford not to integrate climbable walls into the original city level in TR IV, so how can we?
Why shall we?

I just thought about EIDOS/CORE releasing a fixed version, because this is the second WAD with a bug (catacomb.wad and city.wad)

What about that?
You are the only one to fix the problem!

We'll try to get these little bugs taken care of....apologies again for the inconvenience and frustration. Despite these minor problems, I'm sure some incredible levels are being created as we speak!

Nope, not as we speak, because I cannot create great levels while "speaking" here

hmm...it is a bit awful that the only
'modern' level in the editor prevents you from using the exact modern elements you need:
like wall climbing and the monkey swing.
You can't make very good settings without those. (can't climb a ladder on a wall, or go down a lift shaft etc).
These are the first things you would want to use with the CITY.WAD.
I.e. for modern buildings, industrial locations etc.
All the designs plans I have do not work in the
editor as it stands. It is creatively frustrating.
Please get a patch fix up soon!
(including the next level trigger bug)
More generic/global elements please!

In the meantime, put on your creative thinking cap....why not use the City of the Dead texture with another WAD file...granted, you won't have the motorbike, but you'll be able to use the climb and monkey swing.....OR, push Lara's jumping abilities to the limit...use jumping from rooftop to rooftop a way to get around...too much climbing and swinging is boring anyway!!!

Yes, but what shall we do with all those egyptian objects like doors, blocks, statues if we want to use more "generic" objects?
That is because we actually CHOSE city.wad!
